Suria FM DJs Shoot; behind the scenes.

Big thanks to Syahrin Aziz for allowing me to menyibuk on the set I snapped a few pictures of my own.. but mostly were pics of my close buddy with ambient lighting. Syahrin mase tu sibuk guna lighting .. so I tak nak la kacau kan.
It was really cool to see how the lighting was set up - but too fast for me to comprehend. Acai was going back and forth with a light meter... press, take reading... move to another point... press, take reading. heh.
So on to the pictures.. if you wanna see syahrin's pics.. check them out at his flickr.
As for now.. I'm off to kampung. hoho.
Edit: Ohhh. Almost forgot. I'm looking for models at the moment. Specifically those who can agree on TFP (time for prints). Meaning you provide the time to pose for the shoot, and I'll provide you prints for your portfolio/album/what-nots.
If you think you can make it (che wah), or you know someone who does, please e-mail me 2 photos; one up-close and one full body length. My e-mail is wicket_ena AT yahoo.com. Mucho gracias!

Oh Life.
|
|
The first few days were slow, but after I started meeting up with people on Wednesday.. I've been out most of the time.
On Thursday I attended a mini fashion show for the islamic fashion festival at IAM (Islamic Arts Museum). All I can say is.. right now.. I totally suck at shooting runways.
Then there were the meetups with one or two of flickr friends. Which has now turned into "i'm bosan so since you're living around ampang.. let's just chill" kind of friends. And I'm so thankful.. you guys can't imagine how far my other close friends lived. So yay.
Yesterday met up with ted. Wah.. ted... honestly your height intimidated me at first. ahhaha. But no lah.. ted is very talkative - which is good cause I'm so quiet. Talking2 sampai my gramps called and scolded me for being out too long. Oops.

Tested out my polaroids while in transit at the Detroit airport. The x-ray didn't had any effects on them; cool!

Don't think, don't look, just shoot.

Just picked up prints for the first roll of my Olympus XA2. Here are just a few. I love how shooting film is so unpredictable. Nothing stellar here but I really enjoyed the camera. My lomo lc-a that I just got from ebay is loaded with film too - I'll be expecting a lot of light leaks from that one.

I'm cameraless. *pouts* Its on its way back to KL with my friend.. I gave him approx 1K.. hopefully thats enough to get it fixed. I don't think I can afford an upgrade at the moment. I guess I could charge it to my card, but I prefer not to. Wouldn't wanna start my first month of work with a huge debt now would I?
Sorry for the absence. Last weekend I was up in DeKalb for the Malaysian Midwest Games 2007. It was kinda disappointing but it was fun meeting up people who I usually see once a year. UIUC didn't get a placing in this year's Volleyball - our best players either have graduated or already back in Malaysia. Oh wells.
Anyways, JPA finally issued my flight tickets. If anyone cares, I'll be back on June 14. That gives me exactly 2 weeks to do some last minute shopping and ship my stuff back home. Since I'm cameraless, don't expect any updates soon either.
So I'm looking forward to the trip back home. I have a few photographers to meet up with.. Ted Adnan, Syahrin Aziz, Jay Ismail.... Not to mention meeting up with lotsa flickr friends (who I can't thank enough for supporting my work these past few months.)
I hope all this bukan angan2 kosong lah. Insyaallah.

Around chicago with the family
|
|
Spent a few days in Chicago with the family. Didn't take much photos, as usual.. I HATE being in front of the camera.
Here are a few:
Grandma at Navy Pier. My first attempt at saturated colors. Erm. I'm not too happy about it. Either its not my thing or I'm not doing it right. Plus I'm not a fan of snapshots..

Lunch hour at Millennium Park:
Cloud Gate at Millennium Park:
And.. not related to this post, but I edited a picture from a previous series:
